You don't need to be a long-time time Pinterest user to unlock the secret of getting thousands of viral monthly views, achieving the 100 clicks and 200 saves, that you so desperately hope for. Also, Pinterest is not a hard social platform to figure out if you have the proper guidance. It's not a secret to everyone that when you post your first pins, you're only getting 2-3 views on average.
Trust me. I've been there. Done it. And I ended up stagnant for months...
Starting my blogging journey in 2018, I’ve struggled for months trying to understand the mystery behind Pinterest. Some followers would save my pins, and maybe the rare occasional viewer would click my pin, which I have carefully designed and stressed on for at least 2 hours. Being, the kind person I am aka the impatient type who wants instant results. I was frustrated. EXTREMELY frustrated. It was one of the most disappointing experiences in my life. Big bloggers have raved about the effectiveness of Pinterest, calling it one their biggest traffic source for blog views. According to bloggers, almost 70% of their audience comes from this social platform. Pinterest is powerful! If one uses it correctly.
But guess what? Pinterest is constantly changing its algorithm and policy, making it more difficult than ever to achieve even half of the success that most bloggers claimed 5-7 years. Now, it's a whole new ball game. You'll need a solid Pinterest strategy, following along with a smart approach to getting new Pinterest followers. This is where I come in and show you how to go viral on Pinterest. Of course, as promised. I'll be showing you 4 easy-to-follow tips. But, if ever you want to have more in-depth details on how to go viral on Pinterest & make money from it ( P.S I have more secrets!), click on my course e-book that you can download at my  Blogging Guides Shop.

1.Choose a Business Pinterest Account

Before you dive into creating fun, compelling pins, remember to first create a Business Account. It will be your key to success. In what way, you may ask? A Business Account allows you to see all  the Analytics from your worst to your best-performing pins. Hence, it tracks views, saves, and clicks of each, and every one of your pins. Proving to be very useful when you need to make an effective Pinterest Strategy to recreate the same success of your most viewed Pin. I'll be explaining in tip #4 of what consists of a successful Pinterest strategy.
Have a look at one of my most viewed pins. Thankfully, Pinterest has shown all the important data, allowing me to predict what to design next and what viewers are interested to see more from my content. The best way to go viral on Pinterest is to have multiple pins, that are constantly pinned by other users. Pinterest will see it as a good sign and push forward your content to other new users, who have similar interests in the same niche.

Best of all, Pinterest has a Trend section in the bar menu, showing the top trending topics of the week. Don't know what to pin next? Type down a topic in the search bar to see how popular it is, so you can start creating a viral pin. Pinterest regularly updates the trends, so it never hurts to do a quick check-up every month.

2.Target SEO Keyword on your profile Account

A clear, written profile description, which includes a targeted keyword, is very important to Pinterest. As a long-time user, I know for a fact that when searching up a keyword, Pinterest gives a list of recommendations. It's no wonder, that blogger will then use popular trendy keyword, as their brand logo and user name. To increase your chances of going viral on Pinterest, I highly suggest putting your targeted keyword in your username, description, and Pin description, so Pinterest understands your account, giving the possibility of your pins being more visible to the right type of audience. If people are interested in finance, they'll be likely up searching keywords like finance tips, money-saving tips, budgeting tips, or budgeting finances etc.

To sum up, it's a smart way to get more followers. Just like Google, Pinterest is a search tool, where users are used to searching for inspired content and useful DIY. Use it to your advantage to make your pins go viral on Pinterest!

3. Join Pingroupie

I love joining Pingroupie because it shows the stats of the best performing group boards, If you're stuck with an old undated board, that no one visits anymore, then it's pretty obvious your pins won't go viral anytime soon.
The more followers that a board has, and its rapid increase, the more likely it that the board is getting lots of saves and clicks. How else, can a pin be discovered? By someone going in the group board and saving their favourite pin, making the followers of the Pinners being curious, and visiting that same group board!

To go viral on Pinterest, one of my best go-to- places is Pingroupie. It's a website that has hundreds of group boards, where you can sign up by clicking the join button or fulfilling the requirements of the moderator's group board. It takes less than 5 minutes to apply for 10-15 boards! Depending on the moderator you may get acceptance within 1-2 weeks. For others, it might take only a few days.

4.Pinterest Strategy

Beginners, including experienced bloggers, need to all have a Pinterest Strategy. It's the most important key to go viral on Pinterest. If you have to take away one thing from my blog post is that a Pinterest strategy pushes you to be consistent, efficient and, especially strategic, at selecting the optimal times when your pins should be posted.  You don't need to have 100 pins ready every day. Choosing the right kind of content will increase followers, saves, and click, giving the chance to go viral on Pinterest a lot sooner than you think.

My best tool that I use to schedule my pins is Tailwind. I highly suggest that to get it if you're planning on making a passive income from your blog. It's a worthwhile investment, having easy-to-use features for a Beginner Pinner! What I like about Tailwind so much is that it tells you the best-recommended scheduling times for each day of the week! You save the hassle of trying to figure out what’s the best optimal time to post your pins because Tailwind has it all figured out for you!
